Request for Indication of Interest
February 15th, 2026
Dear Classmates,
As Chris Meyer mentioned in a recent email to the Class, we are in the process of putting together a Class of ’69 Mini-Reunion in Boston for next October. The present plan is for Classmates to gather on Monday evening, the 19th, and to visit various points of interest and restaurants in the Boston area over the following 5 days. To see a preliminary schedule showing some pictures of the points of interest that we hope to visit, click here.
We have obtained a preliminary block of rooms at the Fairmont Copley Plaza, which is often referred to as the “Grand Dame” of Boston hotels, and the plan is for most of us to convene there on the 19th for drinks and dinner, and then to stay there through the night of October 24th, with most folks returning home on October 25th. We also are anticipating that a few may wish to arrive on the morning of October 20th, and that a few may wish to depart on the evening of October 24th.
We will be arranging things so that each of you can make your own hotel arrangements with the Fairmount Copley Plaza or another hotel of your choice, such as the nearby Marriott Copley Square Hotel. This will allow you to upgrade, to downgrade or to use points that you may have on other hotel systems, and to tip for the rooms as you wish.
Based upon our preliminary cost estimates, we believe that the final pricing for (i) a couple attending this Mini-Reunion staying at the Fairmont Copley Plaza on a double occupancy basis will be in the vicinity of $5,400 per person (i.e., $10,800 for the couple), (ii) a couple attending, but not staying at the Fairmont Copley Plaza, will be in the vicinity of $3,650 per person (i.e, $7,300 for the couple), (iii) a single person attending and staying at the Fairmont Copley Plaza on a single occupancy basis will be in the vicinity of $7,200, and (iv) a single person attending but not staying at the Fairmont Copley Plaza will be in the vicinity of $3,650, in each case exclusive of alcoholic beverages. These costs are just preliminary, and we will have more accurate estimates once we know the group size, as some costs are somewhat fixed, while others are variable.
The purpose of this email is simply to get an indication of interest from each of you. We would need to know: (i) the number of people in your party, (ii) whether or not you would be arriving in the afternoon on the 19th or early on Tuesday the 20th, (iii) whether or not you would depart after events on the 24th, or would stay overnight, (iv) whether you would stay at the Fairmount Copley Plaza, and (v) whether you and any guest would like to go to the Harvard-Princeton Football game (the hope is to obtain a block of tickets so that we can sit near each other). We have created an on-line survey "event" form that you can fill in and return to us.
As we will only have limited flexibility to change our number assumptions after we get the results of this Request, please do not indicate interest unless you believe that you are highly likely (e.g., more than 90%) to sign up when we get you the final pricing information. We would ask that you fill out your indication of interest by February 28th, 2026 allow us to inform our vendors and to proceed with our planning in a timely manner.
Please understand that the schedule is preliminary, and that some of the venues and restaurants will undoubtedly change before the Mini-Reunion actually takes place. We will try to minimize the number of changes, but they are inevitable.
Finally, we would like to thank Chris Meyer, Jeff Von Arx and Ray Arsenault for their assistance in putting together this Mini-Reunion.
We hope to see you then, if not before!
Chris Milton
