Last Call For Our 55th Reunion

Dear Classmates and Class Associates,

In less than two weeks we will be gathering for our 55th reunion, and it is shaping up to be one of the best ever, thanks to the enthusiastic and hard working Reunions Committee.

Princeton’s last all-male class gathers 55 years after the advent of coeducation for its eleventh major reunion, this year headquartered in what was during our undergraduate years the New-New Quad and what is now Scully Courtyard in Butler College.  Registration opens Thursday May 23 at noon, when, thanks to Rod Ferguson, returning classmates and families will enjoy the flavor of the finest beer offered on campus, Devil’s Backbone’s Vienna Lager, imported from near Charlottesville VA.  That evening we will rejoice to the tunes of the ‘60s spun by turntablist Freddi Campbell, who has entertained the class for each and every major reunion since graduation.

The class’s Wine and Cheese Committee has again put together a tasting at headquarters on Friday afternoon, preceding the highly anticipated visit by university president Chris Eisgruber ’83, at which we hope we learn how he and his administration have succeeded in maintaining a peaceful campus compared with other Ivys. Following our class dinner, we will be entertained by the Around Town Band, a New York dance band making its inaugural Reunions visit.

’69 participants in Alumni-Faculty forums include Rich Rein, Helping Cities Survive, Friday 8:45 AM, McCosh 10; Bob Durkee, Echoes of Old Nassau, Friday 10:30, McCosh 10; Peter Hooper, Money Talks, Friday 2:00 PM, 185 Nassau St Rm 110; and Chris Hart, Healthcare Unscripted, Friday 3:45 PM, 185 Nassau St, Rm 110.

Following the class photo at Whig on Saturday, our class will hold a memorial service at 11:00 AM in the Chapel, when we will pay tribute to classmates who have passed on during the past year.  Saturday evening LandSharks, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, will entertain us.

The 55th will be capped off with Sunday brunch Sunday morning, shared with ’64 at the Grad School.

What to bring? Any ’69 garb and swag that you have hidden in your closet, including the class Yin-Yang vest, jacket, hat and cap, prior reunion polo shirt, orange or black pants and shorts, comfortable walking shoes, and a rain jacket or umbrella just in case.   Also, we will have a table with past reunion swag for the taking. You won’t need to bring a water bottle as you’ll be provided with a 55th commemorative stainless-steel bottle at registration.

For those who have REALLY procrastinated, it still isn’t too late to register, even it is for Saturday only!

Check out the class website Home Page for details and registration process. An updated itinerary of events can be found on the Class website here.
