Reunions 2016, our 47th Reunion, was a great time for all who attended.  Whether you attended or not, be sure to mark your calendar for Reunions 2017, Thursday, June 1 – Sunday June 4, 2017. About 45 Classmates and a comparable number of spouses, partners and guests returned to campus and enjoyed the camaraderie with Classmates, marched in the P-rade (photo, left), saw the campus, both old buildings and new, enjoyed the variety of events for which Reunions are famous and saw the fireworks.  There was no rain throughout the weekend, but the heat and humidity were much in evidence, especially during the P-rade.  As we expected, those who arrived on Thursday were able to hear an outstanding performance by Creedence Clearwater Revisited, a band that has Stu Cook and Doug Clifford from the original Creedence Clearwater Revival.  On Friday afternoon, Classmates had the opportunity to hear our own David Fisher and Leo Roomets perform with the Peacock Crossing Band (photo, right) as one of the Class of 1971’s entries in the "Battle of the Alumni Bands”.  A video of their performance is posted on our Class Vimeo site, here.  On Friday evening, we had a barbecue with our friends in the Classes of ’68, ’70 and ’73, giving us an opportunity to renew acquaintances and make new ones with those in our neighboring classes.  Over 90 classmates, spouses and partners and guests from our combined classes attended this fifth multi-class barbecue.  Following the barbecue, we entered the main tent of Holder Courtyard to hear Mike Love h71 of the Beach Boys perform many of our favorites from The Beach Boys and other popular bands of the sixties and seventies.  After Mike Love, the Right Mix continued to entertain into the wee hours of the morning.

On Saturday, we had our traditional hoagie lunch in the Class of 1969 Memorial Garden at Murray Dodge.  Bill Charrier managed to convince the construction team that is remodeling Dodge Hall to clear away as much as possible of the Garden area so that we could enjoy our lunch there.  The one and only P-rade followed, which was completed in 3 hours and 20 minutes, a remarkably good time given the class sizes and the number of floats and marching bands now to be seen in P-rades.  And when we got to the reviewing stand, we were delighted to see that our honorary classmate, Chris Eisgruber, had abandoned his staid '83 jacket and was properly decked out in his '69 vest (photo, left).  Sandy Rea led an enthusiastic locomotive in honor of his sartorial good taste (photo, right)!  After the P-rade, we had a dinner in the atrium of the Peter B. Lewis Science Library, an architectural wonder that offered us more space and better acoustics than we had in most recent years.  Among the approximately 60 Classmates, spouses and partners and guests were Eric Sease '18 and Marcia Brown '19.  Eric is the son of John Sease '69 while Marcia is the daughter of Bob Brown '69. After more conversation and a wonderful dinner, we had a very brief Class meeting to update Classmates on the most recent activities of the Class.  Then the Princeton Katzenjammers entertained us with renditions of several songs of appeal to our generation.  We then went to the stadium to see the fireworks and some returned to Holder for more entertainment from Liquid Pleasure and more conversation.

It was a most entertaining weekend, with good bands, good food, interesting programs and above all, we saw each other.  Again, don’t miss Reunions next year, Thursday, June 1 – Sunday, June 4, 2017.  Mark your calendar now!
