On the Shoulders of Other Tigers
November 3, 2014
Dear Classmate,
When I knew I was
going to be the new Annual Giving Class Agent for the Class of 1969, the first
thing I did was to look at the Class AG history. What I saw was the names of the nine guys who came before. They are in order of appearance: Paul Sittenfeld, Ross Wales, Don Cowles,
Terry Wintroub, Andy Brown, Bob Brown, Bob Loveman, Mike Gehret, and Bob
Axelrod. There gentlemen
answered the call, suited up and did an amazing job each reunion cycle for
Princeton and the Class. They all
deserve a big ’69 locomotive! I am
humbled to have my name added to that list and recognize the challenge I have
to match their previous efforts.
Together we will give it our best try between now and the 50th.
While we had a very
successful 45th Reunion AG campaign, the counters are reset to zero
and now we get to start all over for our 46th. While our dollar goal is much more
modest than last year, I am optimistic we can maintain our participation rate
at the meaningful level of 69%.
Here are three reasons to consider making an AG gift this campaign:
1. Help
celebrate the 75th
Anniversary of Princeton’s Annual Giving program,
2. Provide
unrestricted funds to fill the gap between endowed scholarships and the actual
financial aid need of the University, and
3. Provide
seed funding to initiate new programs as AG has done in the past such as the
Bridge Year Program, the student computer initiative, and no loan policy.
Here are the three easy ways to give:
1. Send
a check or credit card gift in using the enclosed reply card.
2. Use
the secure Annual Giving online giving website at: www.princeton.edu/ag
3. Call
the toll free 24 hour gift line at 609-258-5421 and make a credit card gift
over the phone.
Thank you for your consideration. I hope you and your loved ones have the Happiest of
Holidays.
Sincerely,
Bruce
