Homecoming Weekend Events

October 26, 2019

Dear Classmates,

All can now sign up for the Class festivities which we have scheduled for the October 26th Homecoming when the football team and a few other teams play Harvard.

We will kick off our Saturday with a Class Meeting at 10:00 am in Jadwin Hall A08 – Classroom B.  We realize that this may be a new venue for many of you.  It is located immediately to the southwest of the Princeton Stadium (a/k/a Powers Field).  Jadwin Hall is the home of the Physics Department, among other things, and was completed in 1968, a year or so before we graduated.  (N.B., this is not the same building as Jadwin Gym, although it is not far away!)

Following the meeting, please join our class tailgate behind Ivy Club starting at 11:00 am.  Thanks to Jack McCarthy for arranging the venue once again.  Even more thanks to Chip Jerry for taking on the ombudsman role in terms of the set-up and the wind-down.  Chip does not want folks coming from out of town to feel that they need to bring anything other than themselves.  If some of the local folks want to bring something, it would be helpful if you could let Chip know what you have in mind – he can be reached at (609) 497-0822, or at cjerry@jerrylaw.com.

After the tailgate, the football game starts at 1:00 pm.  Football tickets can be purchased through the Athletic Department.

Dick Bott has been kind enough to make arrangements for our class reception and dinner to be held at The Nassau Club of Princeton, which is located at 6 Mercer Lane in Princeton (609-924-0580).  Open bar cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will begin at 6:00 pm and dinner will start at 7:00 pm.  The Nassau Club does have a dress code that would require jackets, but happily they have indicated a willingness to relax their code, so long as nobody shows up in shorts.  Dick has also arranged for parking to be available at the Club.

While the Class generally tries hard to keep costs down, we have decided that using University venues is far more complex, and typically leads to less satisfactory experiences, so we have chosen the Nassau Club, despite the fact that it is somewhat more expensive.  Thus the cost of the reception and dinner will be as follows: Early-bird sign-ups (deadline Wednesday, October 16th) are $105 per person, sign-ups from October 17th through Tuesday, October 22nd are $115 per person, and both sign-ups and walk-ups thereafter will be charged $135 per person (N.B., the ability to handle walk-ins will be extremely limited).  Please sign up and pay here (or click the big "Sign Up NOW" button at the top of this page) for the dinner, and indicate for each guest whether he/she prefers seared scallops, duck breast or a vegetarian choice as an entrée.

On that same sign-up page, you can let us know whether you're planning to attend the tailgate behind Ivy Club.  There's no charge for the tailgate, but it helps to have a headcount.

Your Class leaders look forward to seeing you for this Homecoming.
